Dear Pastors, Elders, Health Ministry Leaders, and Church Family:

Each year, the North American Division designates the second Sabbath in February as “Health Sabbath.” This lends an opportunity for our churches to focus their entire Sabbath services on the importance of good health and how the health work enhances the mission of the Seventhday Adventist Church. Our next Health Sabbath is February 9, 2019.

The following are enclosed in this packet to help you prepare for Health Sabbath. More tools are available on our website at www.nadhealth.org.

• DVD with sermons you can play at church.
• Sample of Vibrant Life magazine that you can order in bulk through your local Adventist Book Center.
• Adventist Recovery Ministries brochure. The Journey to Wholeness program provides ongoing support for individuals in need of healing.

The theme for Health Sabbath 2019 is Finding Hope in a Broken World. See the back of this letter for a suggested schedule and list of resources. You can download many of these from our website.

Invite your friends and neighbors to Health Sabbath. Show them that you care for them, including their physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs.

We also invite you to attend the NAD Health Summit in Albuquerque, New Mexico from January 20 – 26, 2019. Visit our website at www.nadhealth.org to register and learn about the numerous health classes that will be offered. You can also contact our Health Summit Coordinator at summit@nadhealth.org or (443) 300-8845.

We pray that Health Sabbath will be a blessing to your church and community. God is ready to do something beautiful in each of us — let’s invite Him to finish the good work that He has started!

Sincerely,
Angeline B. David, DrPH, MHS, RDN
