Experiencing a significant loss puts our health at risk. There is compelling research and evidence that what the Bible says is true. “A joyful, cheerful heart brings healing to both body and soul. But the one whose heart is crushed struggles with sickness and depression.” Proverbs 17:22 (TPT)

As we consider the health needs of our church and surrounding community, please consider those who are experiencing loss and grief. Loneliness creates an even greater health risk. Provide a safe place where grievers can connect with others and begin to experience healing following a loss is a significant part of health ministry.

Seasons: Moving through the Changes of Grief and Loss is a resource created by the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists to enable local churches to offer a peer-led grief support group for their community. This seminar will introduce participants to Seasons and provide them with needed information to facilitate a group and receive follow-up support from other facilitators throughout the NAD.

You and your local church can make all the difference for someone. Knowing we are not alone in our sorrow can help us see God’s love in a very tangible way. That is the whole reason this resource has been created; to help us be more of what God has called us to be: vessels through which God can pour His healing love into hurting hearts.

Pain, loneliness, trauma.  These negative experiences of our lives often lead us to practice harmful thoughts and habits.  Addiction to harmful substances and behaviors can result…but God is offering freedom.

Every church can be a place for healing.  Journey to Wholeness (JTW), a resource created by the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, enables local churches to offer a peer-led support group for anyone who longs for freedom from addictive behaviors.

This weekend training will introduce participants to JTW and provide them with needed information and skills to facilitate a “Journey Group.”  They will also be connected to the larger network of Journey Group facilitators throughout the NAD for support and encouragement.  Prior to attending this in-person training, please complete the free online course, Every Step Counts.
