Anchored in Christ

Addressing the 4 TAGS of life.

Trauma | Addiction | Grief | Suicide

Trauma

Deep emotional or psychological wounds.

Addiction

Compulsive behaviors or substances that promise relief but destroy connection.

Grief

The emotional and spiritual reaction to loss.

Suicidal desperation

Prolonged pain, isolation, and hopelessness.

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

Hebrews 6:19

What Are the TAGS of Life?

The TAGS of Life—Trauma, Addiction, Grief, and Suicide—represent the deep struggles that wound each one of us. When left unresolved, these pains can lead us down unhealthy paths marked by poor choices, broken relationships, and heavy chains that keep us from experiencing the fullness of life God intends.

Adventist Recovery Ministries (ARMin) provides a spiritual framework for understanding and addressing emotional and behavioral pain. Our purpose is to offer Christ-centered healing for people struggling with trauma, addiction, grief, and suicidal thoughts — and to equip churches to become safe places of recovery and growth utilizing the four Anchors of Recovery.

Anchors of Recovery

Each of the four “TAGS” represents an area of brokenness—but they often overlap. Trauma can lead to addiction, grief can intensify despair, and suicide can seem like the only escape. ARMin helps churches and individuals address these struggles together, fostering a community where healing and discipleship thrive even “under duress.”

Anchored

Through the life and teaching of Jesus, we find a model for recovery that is both practical and deeply spiritual.  These four anchors of recovery provide the necessary environment where healing can happen – where joy is restored.

  1. Safety
  2. Healing Relationships
  3. Emotional Regulation
  4. Coping & Resilience

Empowered

True recovery is not just about overcoming pain—it’s about being transformed through God’s power. Adventist Recovery Ministries (ARMin) is grounded in four spiritual anchors that empower healing and growth:

  1. Jesus Christ – our ultimate Healer and Deliverer
  2. The Word of God – our foundation of truth
  3. The Church Community – a place of belonging and support
  4. The Holy Spirit – our daily source of power and renewal
