Welcome to Journey to Wholeness

Transforming Stones of Pain into Paths of Hope

Life has a way of hurling stones.

Trauma. Rejection. Abuse. Shame. Loss. Loneliness. Harmful habits. Addiction.

These experiences can leave wounds that affect every part of our lives. In an effort to cope with pain, many people develop thoughts, behaviors, and habits that provide temporary relief but ultimately deepen the hurt.

Yet there is hope.

Journey to Wholeness (JTW) is a Christ-centered recovery ministry that helps individuals find freedom from harmful thoughts, habits, and addictions while discovering healing for the deeper wounds beneath them.

Through the support of a caring community, the principles of recovery, and the transforming power of Jesus Christ, stones of pain can become paths of hope.

Whether you are seeking recovery for yourself, supporting a loved one, or exploring how your church can become a place of healing, Journey to Wholeness offers a pathway forward.

Through these Journeys, we learn to welcome God’s strength as He transforms the stones that wounded us into the foundation of a new life.

What are Journey Groups?

Journey Groups meet virtually and in person.

Journey Groups are peer-support recovery groups based on Biblical principles and the 12 Steps to Recovery.

Participants gather regularly to:

  • Share experience, strength, and hope
  • Learn practical recovery skills
  • Grow spiritually
  • Encourage one another
  • Build supportive relationships
  • Experience God’s grace in community

Groups are confidential, welcoming, and focused on growth rather than perfection.

Some of us come because our loved ones are in the struggle.  Some of us have walked the road before and come to share our stories.  By listening to each other’s story, and sharing our own journey through the 12 Steps, we gain hope for the journey.

Throughout Scripture, stones are used not only to wound, but also to build. Memorial stones reminded God’s people of His faithfulness. Stones rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem. Stones formed the Temple. And ultimately, Jesus Christ became the Cornerstone upon which all healing and restoration are built. Through these Journeys, we learn to welcome God’s strength as He transforms the stones that wounded us into the foundation of a new life.

Find safety. Find support. Find hope. Begin your journey today.

Anchored in Christ

Addiction is rarely just about a substance or behavior.

Often, it is connected to deeper experiences of hurt, loss, trauma, isolation, fear, shame, or unmet needs. Recovery is not simply about stopping a behavior. It is about restoring the whole person.

We believe that healing happens when people experience:

  • Safety
  • Authentic relationships
  • Emotional healing and growth
  • Healthy coping and resilience
  • A deeper connection with Christ

Recovery flourishes when people are anchored in:

  • Safety – A place where confidentiality, respect, and acceptance are protected.
  • Relationships – Healing happens in connection with God and others.
  • Emotional Regulation – Learning healthy ways to manage emotions and respond to life’s challenges.
  • Coping & Resilience – Developing practical skills for long-term recovery and growth.

These four anchors help individuals move from surviving to thriving.

Every Church Can Be a Place of Healing

Addiction and harmful coping behaviors affect nearly every family and every congregation.

Many people sit in our pews carrying invisible burdens while wondering if anyone understands.

Journey Groups provide a safe, Christ-centered environment where individuals can find support, accountability, and hope.

Churches do not need to be treatment centers to make a meaningful difference.

They can become places where healing conversations happen, relationships are strengthened, and recovery is supported.

Whether you are struggling yourself or supporting someone you love, there is hope.

Whatever your past hurt or pain, there is hope through Jesus and strength in connection with others.

Suffering one, storm-tossed, uncomforted, look, I am setting your gemstones in silvery metal and your foundations with sapphires.

Facilitator Training Pathway

Throughout Scripture, stones often marked significant moments in God’s work.

Some stones represented hardship. Others became memorials of God’s faithfulness.

In the same way, God can transform the painful experiences of our lives into stories of healing, growth, and hope.

The same God who rebuilt broken walls, transformed broken lives, and established His church upon the Cornerstone still works today. God specializes in restoration.

If you have experienced His restoring grace, He may be calling you to ministry as a Journey to Wholeness Facilitator. Join us in our Facilitator trainings and the ARMin Network to receive support and tools to be empowered to answer your calling.
