Mental health is not only a component of Health Ministries, but the life of the church.  Mental health is health.  With the onset of the pandemic, there has been an increase in depression and anxiety.  People are stressed, languishing and dealing with overwhelming grief.  Mental health is a crisis globally. Statistics show that people will go to clergy and the church first before a clinical practitioner.

This webinar will provide training for members who are interested to walk alongside people with mental illness to provide support, love and hope.  They will learn to dispel the myths of mental illness, get a team to help plan support services, train volunteers, conduct small groups, schedule events for the community (mental health fair), and use book club and studies as a format for evangelism.

This webinar is presented by Dr. Cheryl Simmons, Chaplain and Author, and Rosemary Graham, South Atlantic Conference Disabilities Ministries Director and Certified Mental Health Coach.

Saturday, July 9th at 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. This event is virtual.
