Topic: Emergency Safety Planning & Active Shooter Awareness
Presenter: Officer Karl Burnett, Sig 7 Training Institute
Description:
Active shooter and active killer incidents are sporadic and unpredictable. Recent history indicates that houses of worship are not exempt from these episodes. Development of an emergency response plan and subsequent drills may mitigate the negative impacts and improve outcomes of health emergencies in faith communities and is supported by faith community nursing scope and standards of professional practice. Simulated emergency drills and debriefing increases the members’ preparedness for physical and mental health emergencies.
Learning Objectives:
Create a safety plan for their congregation.
Recognize an active threat.
List 3 ways to respond to an active threat.
Deescalate the situation and triage to meet the needs identified.
Successfully organize and implement timely drills for the congregation.
Continuing Education:
1.25 Contact hours for Nurses provided through Adventist HealthCare

Theme quote for health rally 2024. “The harvest is ready, but the laborers are few” The world needs today what it needed nineteen hundred years ago—a revelation of Christ. A great work of reform is demanded, and it is only through the grace of Christ that the work of restoration, physical, mental, and spiritual, can be accomplished. . MH 143.2
You’re invited to the Arizona Conference second annual health rally on April 13-14 hosted at Glendale SDA Church in Phoenix, AZ.
