Joy of Eating Club: Plant-full Holiday Season
Time: 4:00 – 5:30 pm, ET
Topic: Celebrating a Plant-full Holiday Season
The holiday season is upon us and with that comes all the special dishes we reserve (or try to) for this time of the year. But how does our body respond to these occasional splurges? Are there plant-based solutions to minimize the extra calories, sugar, fat, and sodium that so easily pile up during the holidays? Does the Bible have anything to say about foods for special occasions? You don’t want to miss our upcoming article discussing these interesting questions and our special JOE program which will be entirely dedicated to a full holiday meal cooking demo, with Maggie Collins & Lucia Tiffany.
And as holidays also reminds us of gifts we will be giving away an Instant Pot during our live Zoom program based on the following rules:
- The participant needs to be present during the live Zoom meeting
- The participant will cook a 100% plant-based holiday dish in advance and will show the finalized dish to us during the Zoom meeting
- The participant will have 1 minute to tell us why they should win the prize
- The participant will have a recipe of the dish available for sharing via email in case he or she wins the prize
- The participant needs to reside in the US or Canada
- Everyone present at the live Zoom meeting will have the ability to vote on the dishes presented and the winner will be based on the votes.

The Salt of the Earth: How Much is Safe to Use
Time: 4:00 – 5:30 pm, EST
Topic: The Salt of the Earth: How Much is Safe to Use
Health experts agree that most people consume too much sodium, and that it has been linked to some health problems, especially an increased risk for cardiovascular disease. One study concluded that salt (the main source of sodium in our foods) is associated with almost 10% of deaths related to cardiovascular disease worldwide. With that in mind, is there room to safely use salt at all? Are there healthier salt-substitutes? How can our food taste good if we cut back or even eliminate table salt? Can we also develop health problems from consuming too little sodium? We will answer these and other questions related to salt based on the Word of God and current research.
