Ministering to the health needs of the community is a vital part of God’s last-day message to the world.  When done effectively, it opens the hearts of people from all backgrounds to the gospel truths.  This seminar will look at the practical keys to running a power-filled health ministry at your church.  This course is offered by the Health Ministries department of the North American Division, and is highly recommended for all health ministry leaders.

In one of the twelve vision statements developed by the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference, number 4 states:

4.  Area training for broad spectrum community service including health ministries.

There is an urgent  need in our conference for this type of  Health Ministries training.  As the communities become more secular it is harder for the churches in our conference to attract individuals to our evangelistic efforts.  The one area that does seem to still hold an attraction is in the area of health as most individuals are still interested in bettering their health or the health of their families.    In order to send out effective disciples in the area of health ministries we need appropriate training to better equip us to reach the world with this all important “entering wedge”.

Nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese, increasing their risk for asthma, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, sleep problems, depression, and bullying. Some of the contributing factors are decreased exercise, large portion sizes, too much refined foods and not enough whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. On Monday, Sept. 23rd, Ephesus Academy will be participating in this movement from 8:30a – 11:30a. Family & Church members are welcomed to join us. Please wear comfortable clothing and come prepared to be active and have fun!!!

Health Ministries promotes this event to inspire healthy eating and physical activity within our community, church and school. Our students, parents, guest and faculty will be doing different types of fun inactive games and activities to educate about healthy eating and lifestyle as it relates to the Bible.  Also how healthy living contributes to our overall well-being of mental, spiritual and emotional state.
